Weekly Message from Head of School 2025/4/15-2025/4/18
Dear Keystonians,?
Last week, we quietly passed a significant milestone: the 400th edition of?In the Loop! This week, I want to pause and recognize the consistent efforts of our Marketing and Communications team, whose dedication has made this newsletter a vibrant window into life and learning across our campus—connecting employees, students, and families week after week.?
Speaking of 400, it’s remarkable how numbers can spotlight connections we might otherwise overlook. At this week’s Employee Long Service Award Ceremony, we celebrated 40 colleagues marking their 10th year at Keystone—collectively representing?400 years?of service to the school. What a fitting parallel: 400 editions of?In the Loop, and 400 years of commitment from our team. These numbers remind us that growth is built on steady, shared effort.?
When?In the Loop?launched in August 2014, Keystone was a much smaller community. That first issue announced adjustments to the school’s opening date and shared updates about the construction of our purpose-built campus. A decade later, our school has flourished, and so has the role of this publication.?
The title of this newsletter says it all: our goal is to ensure every member of the Keystone community—whether in classrooms, offices, or homes—feels informed and engaged with the full breadth of school life. But?In the Loop?is just one thread in a larger tapestry of communication.?
For employees, we’ve built systems to foster transparency and alignment:?
The?Steering Group?(our executive leadership team) publishes weekly meeting minutes, keeping all colleagues apprised of decisions and priorities.?
Our?All-School Academic Leadership Team and our Business and Operations Leadership Team? meet bi-weekly to advance strategic initiatives, with
Every division sends a?Monday Memo, ensuring teachers and staff are prepared for the week ahead with key deadlines, events, and updates.?
These rhythms—predictable, inclusive, and clear—help weave our community together.?
For our families, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in bridging school and family communication. And through support of events like?division-organized Coffee Mornings, Fireside Chats?and ongoing dialogue, we foster trust, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of Keystone’s mission.?
As we celebrate 400 editions of?In the Loop?and 400 years of our 10-year long-service award winners, we’re reminded that communication is never static. It evolves alongside our community, adapting to new challenges and opportunities. Thank you for being part of this journey—for reading, engaging, and contributing to the shared story of Keystone.?
Here’s to the next 400!?
Warmly,?
Emily
