Keystone Class of 2024 Receives Excellent IB Diploma Results
The Keystone Academy Class of 2024 has maintained the high academic standards set in previous years, with some excellent results in the recently concluded International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) examination in May.
In a cohort of 96 students, 94 pursued the full IB Diploma, achieving an overall average of 36 out of 45. Almost a quarter of our students have achieved full 3 points for the CORE components (Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay), demonstrating their commitment and proficiency in these critical areas. This success in CORE speaks volumes of our students’ mastery of ATL skills, such as research and critical thinking, without which we wouldn’t have achieved this fantastic feat. This also ties closely to our students’ emphasis on Character and Community, our 2nd Keystone. Students engaged well in the CAS program and showcased their commitment to self-growth and the world around them. The IB Diploma pass percentage stands at an impressive 97%, with 89% of students earning bilingual diploma qualifications, a testament to the strengths of our first keystone, bilingual immersion in Chinese and English. The IB Bilingual Diploma is unusual in many schools, and highly regarded by colleges and universities. Notably, 64% of our students scored within the 35–45-point range, showcasing a robust performance among the top achievers. As a cohort, the Keystone class of 2024 showed impressive resilience and commitment to learning and self-growth.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the students, the dedicated DP and Middle Years Programme (MYP) teachers, and other faculty who contributed to these remarkable achievements. The Class of 2024 overcame the interruption, loss of learning, and challenges due to COVID-19 in their year 1 of DP and emerged strong to leave a legacy of excellence in our school’s history. We wish them good luck in all their future educational endeavors.
