Keystone Class of 2023 Receives Excellent IB Diploma Results
Despite the many challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, the Keystone Academy Class of 2023 has maintained the high academic standards set in previous years, with some excellent results in the recent International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) examinati
In a cohort of 108 students, 106 took the full IB Diploma. The overall average was 36.6 (out of a possible 45), slightly lower than last year’s average of 37.4. This was expected because the IB went back to the pre-pandemic era practices, and, as a result, the world average would also dip accordingly.
Four students achieved 44 points, while five achieved 43 points, and six achieved 42 points. The majority of students scored at the top end of the range, with 28% of the cohort achieving 40 or more points, and the next 34% reaching 35 to 39 points. In addition, 98 students earned the prestigious bilingual diploma, a testament to the strengths of our first keystone, bilingual immersion in Chinese and English. The IB Bilingual Diploma is unusual in many schools, and highly regarded by colleges and universities.
A warm congratulations to the students and the teachers of the DP and Middle Years Programme (MYP) who helped make this happen. The recent academic year was challenging, but the Keystone Class of 2023 will always be remembered for how they met these challenges, with clarity of purpose, emotional strength, and intellectual resilience.
